Across campus, athletes gathered to hear inspiring words from Dickinson's new president

After welcoming waves of students on move-in day Wednesday, President John E. Jones III ’77, P’11, headed to Biddle and Miller fields, the Kline Center and athletics sites across campus to welcome student-athletes.

And he reflected the inspiration he gets from these dedicated athletes right back at them.

“First and foremost, I’m not just the president of the college; I’m a fan,” Jones told gathered athletes, noting that the valuable friendships students make through sports will likely last a lifetime. “I believe in athletics. I believe that it adds to the college experience. I think it predicts success, and ... I think it predicts leadership.”
