“The broad education and social involvement that students receive at Dickinson, I believe, really prepare them for real-world experiences that they’ll encounter post-graduation. My husband and I have chosen to support Dickinson by developing a scholarship so we could provide the opportunity to experience everything Dickinson has to offer to someone who may not otherwise be able to afford to attend.”

Abbegayle Morrow ’05 got a lot from Dickinson. Not only did it prepare her for her work as associate vice president for event marketing and attendee engagement at Vendome Group, which produces nearly 100 healthcare-focused events each year, but it’s also where she met her husband Michael ’05. The former international & business management major chose Dickinson because she wanted a strong business program, small classes and a tight-knit community—and that’s exactly what she got.

“Dickinson’s liberal-arts education truly prepared me to be able to handle the many aspects of my job, from budget development and management to writing and team building,” says Morrow, who spends most of her free time caring for and entertaining her superhero-loving 4-year-old son, Joshua. “The broad education and social involvement that students receive at Dickinson, I believe, really prepare them for real-world experiences that they’ll encounter post-graduation.”

To ensure that Dickinson continues to prepare students to engage the world, Morrow and her husband established a scholarship and made a John Dickinson Society-level challenge gift to help make the college’s Day of Giving a success.
