2015 Baccalaureate Ceremony

Baccalaureate ceremony.

Baccalaureate Weather Announcement:

Due to a 70% chance of thunderstorms, today’s Baccalaureate ceremony will be held in the Kline Athletic Center. For those planning to participate in the processional, line up is at 2:15 p.m. Students will line up on the concourse and mezzanine level; faculty and administrators line up in the dance area; and the platform party will line up on the lower level near the doors leading onto the main floor. The procession will begin at 2:45 p.m., and the ceremony will begin as scheduled at 3 p.m.

The Baccalaureate Ceremony, traditionally the opening ceremony of Commencement Weekend, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in front of Old West on the John Dickinson Campus.

Baccalaureate is a time for students to reflect on their years at Dickinson through speeches, music, prayers and other means of expression. Students can articulate the value of their Dickinson education and recognize how it has challenged or transformed them. Last year, more than 2,000 family and friends attended to hear these reflections from the senior class.

Those who have difficulty walking or who use a wheelchair may be dropped off at the circular drive behind Old West on West Louther Street.

If the Baccalaureate Ceremony is moved to the Kline Athletic Center because of severe weather, the drop-off site will be the circular drive on West High Street.
