Student Interviewers

Lindsey Zwecker ’17

I was welcome to change, but never did I expect to change this much and for the better. My time at Dickinson these past years has led me to become the best version of myself. The opportunities given and the environments you are put in as a Dickinson student allow you to grow and prosper as a person.

I was nervous coming to a school a decent distance from home, I was not sure what I was getting myself into. But the small classes and welcoming professors made it easy to adjust and fall in love with the school. Dickinson has been everything I wanted and more. As a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major, an interdisciplinary major, I have had the ability to discover my specific learning styles and what sort of environments I can thrive in. Not only through my major but through Dickinson’s dedication to a student’s well roundedness have I been able to really find myself as a person. Taking classes through distribution requirements, I have had the ability to explore other departments and find myself outside of the sciences. I have become a more confident and independent person because of Dickinson.

I have also received many opportunities through extra-curricular activities. Being involved in admissions has shown me a love of helping and learning about people, and being an athlete has shown me the values of team work and being able to support people at different times of their lives. All my experiences here at Dickinson have led me further to a career path of my dreams and has given me the tools and the confidence to pursue it.

My ability to develop in different parts of campus is really a hallmark of the Dickinson community. Not only in the classroom, but through athletics, admissions, and many other campus departments have I found Dickinson to be a second home. It has shown me that choosing Dickinson was the best decision I have ever made. If you have any questions about science, athletics, or really anything please contact me at zweckerl@dickinson.edu.
