Alternative Pathways to Education Panel: A Conversation with ChangeMaker in Residence, Flow Tejada '11 & her Village

October 28, 2026

Participants can expect to engage with Flow as she facilitates a conversation about alternative and traditional roads to education, and how to leverage education as a resource for social change.

CCLA's inaugural ChangeMaker in Residence program is designed to bring a community expert to campus who can illuminate diverse pathways to positive social change, whether that includes direct service, activism and advocacy, education, research, or philanthropy. Flow Tejada '11 is CCLA's inaugural resident, and we're delighted to offer this public opportunity to engage with Flow and her beloved community.

Flow’s approach to social change is founded on the fundamental belief in the collective. In this panel discussion and reflection moderated by Flow, participants will engage with four Dickinson alumni who have each shaped her journey and who each exemplify how the liberal arts and education multiply students’ post-graduate opportunities. Pursuing education as an industry and career path opens doors to social change, including teaching, but also in consulting, philantrophy, leadership, administration, nonprofits, and technology.

Participants' Bios:

Moderator and CCLA's ChangeMaker in Residence: Flow Tejada ‘11 (she/her/ella) believes a student's zip code should never determine how far they go, and she has built her career around ensuring it doesn't.

Flow is an immigrant raised in a family of many educators, including her mother, and she grew up knowing what it means to navigate systems that weren't built with you in mind. As a first-gen college student, she found that programs like Upward Bound and Posse helped open doors for her, and everything she does professionally is, in some way, an attempt to do the same for someone else. An internship during her junior year at Dickinson College cemented this path.

She began her career in a middle school classroom, went on to build a college counseling program from the ground up, and later led partnerships at OneGoal in NY. She now serves as Director of College Advancement for KIPP Public Schools' Southeast region, the largest charter school network in the country. She is also a Dickinson College Trustee and a first-year lecturer at Rutgers University.

Flow lives in New Jersey with her partner Natalie (an Algebra teacher), and enjoys boxing, traveling, cooking and a good podcast.
