How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
At Dickinson, my experience in various biochemistry courses, such as Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomimetic Organic Chemistry, Precision Medicine and The Biology of Cancer, have compelled my interest to continue to learn how the regulation of gene expression, phosphorylation and alternative splicing, among others, can impact cellular development, metastatic growth and differentiation. Therefore, as a biochemistry and molecular biology major, I hope to excel in a career in oncology and partake in cancer research to improve my practice and knowledge in medicine with future aspirations to be a surgical oncologist. Once graduating from Dickinson in May 2024, I aspire to matriculate in a medical degree program after gaining research experience in the Suvà Laboratory in Boston for the next two years.
