President Jones to Receive Mercersburg Academy Class of ’32 Award
Award honors distinguished alumni displaying character, service and achievement
President John E. Jones III '77, P'11, has been chosen to receive Mercersburg Academy's highest honor, the Class of '32 Distinguished Alumni Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to members of Mercersburg’s alumni body who have most distinguished themselves through character, service and achievement.
"I cannot adequately express how thrilled I am to receive this honor," says Jones, a 1973 graduate of the school. "Mercersburg truly changed my life, and whatever career successes that I have enjoyed are a direct result of the educational experiences and mentoring that I received there."
Jones is a consistent donor and volunteer at his high school alma mater and also established the John E. Jones II '44 Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jones's father and two brothers also graduated from Mercersburg.
