Job Responsibilities
I will be working part-time as a graduate assistant for the Office of Student Conduct. I will be working on social and academic conduct cases as a faculty representative. I will be working closely with the undergraduate students who sit on the Carolina Judicial Council. I also will work 1:1 with students who have broken the student code, and I will meet and come up with a resolution with the student.
How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has prepared me to speak up and ask for what I need. I have also learned to work independently and how to problem-solve. Dickinson's different opportunities helped lead me to my passion for working with students in higher education. My time working as a student panelist for the conduct board directed me into a future career path and is a huge reason why I am working for the Office of Student Conduct at graduate school.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am excited to apply what I have learned and experienced at Dickinson to my post-graduate opportunities.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
Working for the conduct board has brought insight about college students that I never thought or knew about. I liked to know I was helping change the Dickinson community for the better by sitting on conduct hearings and coming up with a resolution plan for the student who broke the conduct code. Being on the conduct panel, made me try to be the most upstanding student because I knew I had to lead the student body by being a good example by upholding the conduct code.
Internship Experience
I worked at the Loomis Chaffee Summer Program in Connecticut. It was an intensive five-week program where I student taught two courses, was an RA to middle and high school girls, chaperoned weekend trips and advised a group of students throughout the program.

With Zeta, I will have the meaningful opportunity to work with an experienced co-teacher in an elementary school classroom. In addition, through Zeta's partnership with Relay Graduate School of Education, I will receive a master’s in teaching and New York State Teaching Certification.
Internship Experience
Teaching fellow: June 2020 - Aug. 2020 in Santa Fe, New Mexico
- Teach literature to three cohorts of seventh grade students.
- Advise a group of five middle school students.
- Create and implement lesson plans for seventh grade curriculum.

How has Dickinson prepared you for life after graduation?
Dickinson has prepared me for life after graduation as it has developed my problem-solving and self-advocacy skills. While being a Dickinson student, I have been pushed into so many different fields of study, organizations on campus and social groups, and have learned so many valuable skills from the people around me and my environments. The liberal-arts aspect of Dickinson has made me who I am today. As I am graduating as a triple major, a member of an athletic team, a member of a sorority, a member of an educational honor society, a student employee for CCLA, the ROTC house, the peer tutoring program, a Dana research assistant, a global ambassador and an employee for a local Carlisle elementary school, I have been exposed to so many different types of people and spaces and learned so much about myself and so many other backgrounds. This space has made me a more well-rounded, versatile, and compassionate young adult, and helped me to define what I hope to bring to my communities outside of Dickinson. I have advocated for myself to obtain internships and reach out to alumni to learn more about what they do and that is a valuable skill that I will take with me.
What are you most anticipating about your career or post-graduate pursuits?
I am most excited to continue my education that I have started here at Dickinson in my graduate program this fall. This space has made me want to continue learning after graduating from Dickinson, as I have been inspired by many of my professors to commit to work I am passionate about. I know that the work I have done here will inform me what I do after graduating, and for that, I am very excited.
What are some of the defining moments of your Dickinson experience?
The most important part of Dickinson to me has been the relationships I have made with my peers and professors here. The community at Dickinson is one unmatched by many college campuses, it is warm, it is personal, and it is so supportive. My peers have taught me so much, and I have made lifelong friends here. Additionally, my professors have been such positive and supportive role models and bring so much insight and intelligence to spaces here at Dickinson, I am so much more informed and well-educated because of them. I would have to say one of my most defining moments came from my study abroad experience. I have never felt so comfortable being myself as I was living in Bologna, Italy. I was challenged academically, while also personally managing myself financially and mentally while living in another country. The growth I saw within myself and my peers was so inspiring and have led me to push myself and continue to always grow since returning. It has also shaped the path I am taking after Dickinson as I am pursuing a degree in international education, in hopes of returning to teach there one day. Another defining moment would have to be joining Delta Nu my first year at Dickinson. Coming from an all-girls school background, it was really imperative that I have a similar all-female space during my undergrad experience. The females in Delta Nu not only gave me a home, but also introduced me to so many different identities of females and each individual in the organization in my four years here has taught me something valuable. I would not be the woman or scholar that I am today with this group.
Internship Experience
- Summer 2019: Education internship at Captain Nathan Hale Middle School in Coventry, Conn.: Worked with a Dickinson alumna in her 7th and 8th grade Spanish and French classes, designed curriculum and taught lessons.
- Fall 2019: Education internship in Bologna, Italy at Liceo Laura Bassi (high school): Worked with a 9th grade teacher to teach economics in English to her Italian students, served as a translator and teacher aide in her class.
- Summer 2020: Internship at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.: Worked with a professor in the Department of Educational Methodology and conducted research on women, peace and security to add to a War College introductory course.
- Fall 2020: Internship at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania: Worked with a U.S. Army colonel in the Department of National Security creating the spring curriculum and list of think tank resources for the America Regional Studies Program.
- Spring 2020: Internship at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania: Worked with the same U.S. Army colonel and her team of international fellows to create a podcast about the America Regional Studies program and the benefits to Army colonels in taking this course.
