Dickinson Hosts Virtual Love Your Body Week

Love your body week lybw 2021

by JC Sosa Soto '21

Love Your Body Week as become a big part of the Dickinson experience for some time now, usually taking place in the beginning of February. The week, which is organized by the Psychology Club and the Love Your Body Week Committee, made up of faculty, staff and students, includes events that focus on the importance of mental health, body positivity and spirituality.

Typically, these events would take place in various sites across campus, but this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the committee has organized a slate of virtual events for Love Your Body Week.

“Especially with all of the New Year’s messaging about ‘losing quarantine weight’ and other such things, we want to cultivate a loving and accepting environment where we honor how hard our bodies have been working to get us through this pandemic and create a space to relax and celebrate this work together,” said Maddie Albro ’21 (English), vice president of the Psychology Club.
