The Global Experience: Cameroon

Audrey Scott visits Cameroon.

by Audrey Scott '13

At first, the city market bustle—bursting with bright colors, food, French and Cameroonians—overwhelmed me. Slowly, I grew into a routine: school, dinner and singing in the evenings with my host family, lugging my laundry to the apartment to hand wash and hang outside in the heat. My Cameroonian family grew, and I explored the city while donning African fabric (pagné) with eight extraordinary ladies. In trying times, like climbing Mount Cameroon, I discovered that my Father, God, had been with me always. These are the “fabrics of my life” in Cameroon.
