During Homecoming & Family Weekend, Dickinson celebrated its new 5K cross country course with a ribbon cutting ceremony. And the event and the new course both serve as a tribute to Don Nichter, long-time head cross country and track and field coach.

“I know I speak on behalf of all the parents and all the alumni and the students and the competitors when I talk about you, Coach, when I talk about what you mean to all of us,” said an emotional Keith Canning P’18, who, along with wife Maria Garcia-Canning and daughter and cross country standout Sofia ’18, was the lead donor on the project. “A huge thank-you to Coach Nichter and a huge thank-you to the community at Dickinson.”
