Actress Ellie Kemper recently read Dickinson College Professor of Creative Writing Susan Perabo's "When Mothers Bully Back" on The New York Times' Modern Love podcast. Originally published in 2017, the essay explores how the intense emotions of parenting can take us by surprise.
In addition to teaching creative writing at Dickinson, Perabo is the award-winning author of numerous short stories, and her most recent books are The Fall of Lisa Bellow and Why They Run the Way They Do. Kemper currently stars in the Netflix comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, has been featured in several films and first rose to fame as Erin Hannon in The Office.
