Dialogues Across Differences

Student Facilitators

Meet our Student Facilitators!

Anne Fisher-Henson '24 (she/her)

Hi everyone! I'm Anne Fisher-Henson and I am a Political Science major with a certificate in social innovation and entrepreneurship from McVeytown, Pennsylvania.

Having focused my academic career on rural studies, I have pursued multiple independent courses on the interdisciplinary topics of rural sociology, small business development, and state and local government. These have been complemented by experiential opportunities throughout central Pennsylvania, including a liaison position as Student Ambassador to the Carlisle Borough Council and previous internships at Community Partnerships RC&D and the Newville Economic Development Authority. In addition, I hold leadership roles in the campus-based Rural Student Community and Dickinson Christian Fellowship and am the co-founder/coordinator of the children’s program at the Rothrock Community Library. My involvement in these capacities has provided ample opportunities for involvement in cross-sector collaboration and communication.

In the Spring 2024 semester, I will practice this skill as a Dialogue Associate and Student Facilitator/Recruiter for Dickinson’s Dialogues Across Differences program. I have thus far valued the interaction that this program has provided with dialogic issues of local significance and I look forward to working intentionally at the intersection of the campus and broader communities.

Benjamin Lunde '27 (he/him)

Hey y'all, my name is Benjamin Lunde and I am a sophomore studying International Business and Management. I am from Rancho Cucamonga, California and I enjoy running, hiking, and traveling… basically anything that allows me to explore the world around me! I am an active member of the Christian community both on and off campus, as well as a member of the Latin American/Caribbean Club, saxophonist for the Dickinson College Jazz Ensemble, and Director of Club Finance for Student Senate. I am excited to be a part of a project that brings people together. I believe that's something our nation needs now more than ever, and I am glad to have the opportunity to do this work serving my Carlisle community!

Evan Connery '26

Hello! I am majoring in International Studies and pursuing a Spanish minor. I am from McLean, Virginia and am a pitcher on the Dickinson Varsity Baseball team. I chose to be invovled in DxD because I feel that it will further my education by exposing me to different cultures and viewpoints. As an International Studies major, I need to be able to view the world through different lenses, and this exposure to different ideas will help me achieve this. Lastly, diversity is one of Dickinson's strengths and I feel that it is important these diverse voices are elevated!

Katarina Swendrowski '24 (she/her/hers)

Hi everyone! My name is Katarina Swendrowski and am from Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. I'm currently a senior pursing a Law & Policy major, in addition to my Ethics and Political Science minors. In addition, I'm a Student Conduct hearing panelist, I work for the Center of Spirituality and Social Jusstice as an outreach coordinator, I'm the president of the Cheerleading team, and the Student Body President!

I want to continue to be a part of DxD because Learning how to communicate and listen properly brings great value to the individual and facilitates community building. Above all, I want to be part of DxD, because our work with dialogue around crucial issues on our campus and in our community will have a profoundly positive impact.
