A Zoom Link to attend the meeting is available to interested parties by request from the IBC Chair.

Requests to attend in-person can be accomodated with advanced notice to the IBC Administrator.

On March 28, 2025, the NIH issued a Guide Notice (NOT-OD-25-082) outlining new expectations for institutions conducting research subject to the NIH Guidelines For Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules (NIH Guidelines).

Effective June 1, 2025, the following transparency requirements will be implemented:

  1. Public Posting of IBC Meeting Minutes: Institutions are expected to publicly post approved Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meeting minutes for meetings held on or after June 1, 2025. Minutes must be posted as soon as possible after IBC approval and will include appropriate redactions to safeguard sensitive or proprietary information (this does not include PI name). NIH has provided specific guidance on what should be redacted to ensure consistency and compliance.
  2. Public Posting of IBC Rosters: NIH will begin publicly posting the rosters of all active IBCs registered with the Office of Science Policy (OSP) via the IBC-Registration Management System (RMS). These rosters will include:
    • Names and roles of all IBC members
    • Contact information for the IBC Chair, Biological Safety Officer (BSO), and IBC Contact
