Marketing & Communications Student Volunteers

The Office of Marketing & Communications is responsible for telling the Dickinson story through a variety of mediums, including Web features, social-media campaigns, media pitches and Dickinson Magazine. Our student volunteers, dubbed the “Social Squad,” provide valuable insider information to assist with content generation and share content via their personal social-media channels.

Social Squad

Specific responsibilities:

  • Re-tweet, like and share content posted by the main Dickinson accounts to generate higher traffic and visibility.
  • Post “slice of life” images to Twitter and Instagram using #dsonphotos to build user-generated content that will help communicate why Dickinson is distinctive.
  • Attend and live-tweet special events, per the request of marketing & communications.
  • Meet twice per semester with marketing & communications staff to discuss priorities, initiatives and plans.
  • Contact stories@dickinson.edu with any story ideas, ranging from exciting club or organization news, potential subjects for the Student Snapshot features or hot topics around campus.
  • Offer feedback and ideas to enhance Dickinson’s communications initiatives.
If you are interested in volunteering for the Social Squad to help us tell the Dickinson story, e-mail social@dickinson.edu and tell us why.
