Dickinson's College Farm is a shining example of sustainability and agricultural education. Covering 80-acres, the USDA-certified organic farm is also a living laboratory where students can gain distinctive, hands-on learning experiences. Student employees, graduate apprentices and volunteers participate in all aspects of food production and research, and the crops and produce that are harvested on the farm are dispersed back to the campus and local community.

The farm also provides workshops and volunteer opportunities to learn about renewable energy and sustainable agriculture. To help students understand renewable solar energy and carbon emissions reduction, and to make farm tasks a little easier, the College Farm recently developed a solar-powered bicycle and a solar-powered farm vehicle.
