As an intern at BlackRock, Ryan Devine '21 stays flexible, taking on any type of project that comes his way and learning firsthand lessons about finance.

Quantitative economics.

Internship title and location:

Separately managed accounts intern, BlackRock (Princeton office).

What I do, day to day:

I do whatever the group needs me to do. I have to be ready for any type of projects that come my way. Anything from finding errors in data to making sure the right updates are being made to contracts.

Most valuable part of this experience:

Learning more about finance and how everything going on around the world affects it.

Advice for students considering internships:

It's a very worthwhile experience. You will learn so much about the field and your interests.

How this internship has helped me:

I have learned to be more of a professional in a business environment, to improve my time-management skills, and to become more outgoing.

Post-Dickinson plans:

To obtain a job in the finance/business field that may involve sports in some way, but I still have more to figure out when it comes to my plans after Dickinson.
