William F. Greenlee, winner of the 2009 Rush Award, begins his speech, "Building Intellectual Bridges."

William F. Greenlee, president and CEO of The Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences and chairman and CEO of the Health Research & Education Foundation, is the 2009-10 recipient of the Benjamin Rush Award. Greenlee, the visionary behind The Hamner, devoted much of his presentation to the relationship between the U.S. and China and the potential for growth in the pharmaceutical industry.

Greenlee's son, Benjamin Greenlee '10, is an international-studies major at Dickinson.

The Benjamin Rush Award ceremony, sponsored by The Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues, recognizes outstanding achievement by a member of the government or business community.
