Timeless Classics

by MaryAlice Bitts-Jackson

Centuries after they were composed, Christmas works by medieval, Renaissance and baroque choral masters still resonate with audiences. That was abundantly clear on Dec. 1 and 2, when the Dickinson Collegium performed its annual holiday concert to packed houses in Rubendall Recital Hall and at the nearby St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Featuring performances by Dean of Advising Shirley King (organ) and Contributing Faculty in Piano David Glasgow (piano), the concerts were conducted by Professor of Music Blake Wilson and featured solo performances by Dana Lopatin ’15 (soprano), Sam Hoagland ’14 (tenor), Sara Hoffman ‘14 (alto) and Stephen Reale ’14 (bass).  Freewill offerings at both events benefitted Project S.H.A.R.E., a Carlisle food bank for needy families.
