Alumni & Visitor Services

Alumni and visitors are welcome to use much of the collection and will have access to a variety of services during public building hours. Interlibrary Loan services and most electronic resources are not available to alumni or courtesy borrowers.

Registration & Borrowing Privileges

Dickinson Alumni

To borrow from the Waidner-Spahr Library, Dickinson alumni must register at the main circulation desk for annual borrowing privileges. A library staff supervisor will assist you. Alumni should bring their Dickinson College ID (obtained from the college's ID office).

Alumni Loan Periods

Visitors

Courtesy borrowing privileges are available for an annual fee of $25 to the following visitors:

  • Adult Pennsylvania residents with a valid photo ID
  • Current faculty and students from consortia schools (ACLCP, PALCI, Oberlin Group)
  • Family of Dickinson College faculty and staff (dependents and/or spouse)

Annual fees are waived for consortial members and family members.

Visitor Loan Periods

Privileges are not granted automatically. The Library reserves the right to withhold privileges, or to withdraw them if they are misused.

Building Access

Alumni and visitors may enter the Waidner-Spahr Library during our general public access hours. See our Library Hours page for more information.

Wireless Computing

Anyone wishing to access the library’s wireless network while on campus can self-register as a guest user. See the guide to the Wireless Network at Dickinson College for more information.

COMPUTER USE

Alumni and visitors may use our public access machines, on the main floor of the library located on the circulation desk. For more information, refer to our Public Computer Usage Policies.
