Health Studies Student Research Projects
"The Health Studies program at Dickinson allowed me to view health multi-dimensionally. I learned the biology of disease and got involved in cancer research, which has lead to my current position as a post-baccalaureate fellow at the National Cancer Institute, where I am developing immunotherapy for HPV-associated cancers.
Through the program, I also learned about the impact of disease and of health policy beyond biology. I interviewed truck drivers for my senior seminar research project, and read narratives of health and illness through an American Studies course. Ultimately, I think everything I learned through the health studies program will enable me to be a better physician, more aware of the complexities of healthcare. I've just recently been accepted to medical school, and being a part of the Health Studies program definitely helped me achieve that goal!"
