Tech Expo: Presentation on Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a powerful technology for collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data and information.  GIS has many varied applications across a broad spectrum of disciplines, and is particularly well suited for understanding how geographic space is represented and for solving complex problems that incorporate geography as a construct.  This session will provide a brief introduction to some of the GIS capabilities available at Dickinson College and highlight some examples for how this technology can be used for teaching across the curriculum.
