War & Violence Around the World: Can Comics Help?

March 28, 2024

How might comics help us understand, navigate, reflect on, or engage with issues of violence around the world?

Join us at the library for a conversation about how comic books and their adaptations strengthen, challenge, or detract from our understandings, and how we might use them to support or inspire dialogue or action. All are welcome -- no prior knowledge about comics necessary.

The event will begin with a brief presentation, after which we will move into small groups for discussions and a crafting activity. We will end the evening with a few rounds of Comic Book Bingo. All attendees and bingo winners will receive tickets for our raffle prizes. Snacks will be provided, and dressing up as your most inspirational characters is welcome.

Let us know you're coming so we can appropriately plan for snacks, but RSVPs are not required to attend. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome
