The Wheel and Chain Leadership Award, established in honor of the 75th anniversary of Wheel and Chain and the 225th anniversary of the founding of Dickinson College, is to be awarded to a male or female student of Dickinson College.
To be eligible to apply for this award, the following criteria must be met:
- Have a 3.25 GPA after three semesters of study at Dickinson College
- Demonstrate vigorous participation in campus activities, service to the college and community, strong leadership skills and high personal character
To apply for this award, you need to complete an application form. In addition, you must write an essay of 500 words or less explaining which of the activities you are involved in is most meaningful and why.
The recipient of the award will receive $10,000 for his/her junior year at Dickinson. This money will be credited to the student’s account, even if the student is participating in a Dickinson study abroad program. This award is renewable for the student’s senior year in the amount of $10,000 provided the student continues to demonstrate the aforementioned criteria and does not transfer from Dickinson College.
