If you are interested in declaring the finance major, follow these steps:
- Complete or be currently enrolled in INBM 110 or ECON 111. There are advantages to declaring the major early as it will enhance your ability to take other required courses for the major.
- Discuss your decision to major in finance with your current academic advisor and your current (or recent) INBM 110 or ECON 111 professor, the finance program chair, or any other available finance contributing faculty member.
- Complete this online form to note your interest in declaring the finance major. You will receive a follow-up email from Mary Padgett, the Finance Program Coordinator, with your advisor assignment and further major declaration instructions.
- Once an advisor has been confirmed, to complete the process, please sign in to your personal CLIQ page, go to the Forms Center, click on Forms, then Registrar’s Office Forms. From the list of forms that appear, choose the "Major Declaration Form." Complete all fields on the form and then click Save at the top right corner of the screen. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming submission of the form.
Your advisor will also receive an email indicating they have a form awaiting their acceptance. Once that professor completes their part, the next professor (i.e. new advisor or department chair), if needed, will receive an email. When all approvals are received, the Registrar’s Office will be notified to update your record. When complete, you will receive a final email. You can check the status of these forms in CLIQ at any time.
