There will be 3 Rounds of the Competition:

  1. Idea Round: January 27 - February 26, 2018
Teams will submit preliminary ideas for their Innovation consistent with the eight categories of the Innovation Template. This round does not include the Economic Logic category.
  2. Description Round: March 9 - April 3, 2018
Up to ten teams from those who participated in the Idea Round will be invited to submit a detailed plan for their Innovation, consistent with all nine categories of the Innovation Template. In this round, the Economic Logic category is added.
  3. Public Pitch Round: April 13 - April 26, 2018
Three teams from those who participated in the Description Round will be invited to publicly pitch their final idea and will include content with all nine categories of the Innovation Template.

Submissions for Round 1 and Round 2 will only include documents submitted via the Dickinson College IC@D Platform and will not include oral presentations. Round 3 will involve a document submitted to the in-house platform and a public presentation to a panel of judges and a live audience on May 3, 2018. The team presentation will be more of a “Pitch” than a dry, fact-laden information session.

Thus, there are two possible types of Scores: a Content Score, which (based on the documents submitted via Skild for Rounds 1 and 2) and a Presentation Score (awarded during the final Round only). Weights for each of the rounds will be explained as the competition progresses.
