  • What do you anticipate defining your college experience?

  • What seems to “fit” at Dickinson for you?

Intellect

  • Tell me about your high school. What do you like about your experience there? What would you change?
  • Tell me about you junior year of high school? Challenges?
  • Describe your schedule of classes for the upcoming school year.
  • What subjects do you enjoy most in school?
  • What is the ideal classroom for you? How do you learn best?
  • Tell me about a particular school project/lab/paper that really captured your interest. Why?
  • Is there one teacher that really stands out to you? What qualities did this particular teacher possess?

Engagement

  • Tell me about some of your co-curricular activities (things you do outside the classroom). Why are they important to you?
  • What is something that you are really passionate about?
  • Dickinson talks a lot about engaging with and contributing to the wider world. What does “engage” mean to you? What is an example of how you engage or contribute now? How do you see yourself engaging or contributing during college?

Personality

  • Places have a way of shaping who we have become. How has your town/city shaped or influenced who you have become?
  • What was the most useful criticism you ever received? Who was it from? Did it change you? How/why?
  • If I opened a dictionary and saw your name listed among its pages, how would you be defined?
  • Imagine someone who might not have the best opinion of you. What might that person say about you?
