Title IX and Sexual Respect Office
Dickinson College’s Title IX office responds to complaints or reports of sex and gender-based discrimination as well as sexual assault, abuse, violence, and stalking. This website contains information for students, staff and faculty regarding Title IX resources and support services, policies, procedures, education and prevention at the college. The Title IX Office is a private space where any survivor or respondent can request to meet with a staff member to understand their rights, available support services, process options, and our policies.

The Wellness Center offers care and counseling to victims and survivors of sexual violence. Crisis walk-in hours are open to those who have experienced and/or witness sexual abuse, harassment, violence, or stalking. These hours are Monday-Friday 11 am - noon as well as from 2 to 3 pm. Counselors undergo annual LGBTQ+ sensitivity training, to make it a safe space for LGBTQ+ survivors find emotional support.

For medical care in the instance of sexual assault, contact or visit UPMC Carlisle. UPMC's SAFE Program in Central Pa. addresses one of the most serious and underreported crimes, giving survivors of sexual assault one on one care that you deserve. A specially trained forensic registered nurse, called a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner), will provide you with a compassionate, comprehensive medical-legal examination.

Medical care is important after a sexual assault, Planned Parenthood can perform medical examinations, give you medical care that may include emergency contraception, tests for STDSs, and medicine to help prevent HIV. In addition, they can help you find the support you need, such as a doctor or nurse, counselor, or other support.
YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County
YWCA’s Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis Services (SARCS) of Cumberland County is committed to helping our community heal, including BIPOC and those identifying as gender-expansive. We provide services to anyone in need in Cumberland County of any gender, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. SARCS services include, but are not limited to, a 24-hour hotline, empowerment counseling for adults, in-person accompaniments to hospital, court & police settings. They provide information on sexual health and consent and their services are confidential.

DVSCP supports the empowerment of those who are experiencing domestic violence through the provision of equitable and gender/sexuality inclusive direct services and the promotion of nonviolence through social and systems change. There is a relationship guide found on their website delineating in what situations they provide services to. They host support groups throught the day, and their hotline is available both over the phone and by text.

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)
When you call 800.656.HOPE (4673), you’ll be routed to a local RAINN affiliate organization based on the first six digits of your phone number. Calling the National self hotline gives you access to a range of free, confidential services including referrals for long term support, information about laws in your area, basic information about medical concerns, and emotional support from a trained staff member. In addition, visit RAINN’s website for LGBTQ+-specific information about how you can seek support.
The Trevor Project
If you are an LGBTQ+ individual seeking emotional support after an instance of sexual violence, the main site for The Trevor Project, which works to provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention resources to LGBTQ youth across the country; provides information about the organization and access to immediate assistance for those who need it.
