Professor Amy Farrell
 will be leading a community discussion of her article “Fat Chance: The Line Between Health and Shame is Becoming Increasingly Thin”. Students, staff, and faculty are all are welcome!  Please read Professor Farrell’s essay to prepare for the discussion.  

Professor Farrell is the Executive Director of Dickinson's Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues and the John and Ann Curley Chair of Liberal Arts, Departments of American Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Having Difficult Conversations

Faculty and staff are invited to join the President’s Commission for Women, Gender and Sexuality and Human Resource Services for this workshop, which will help you develop a toolkit of ways to deal with and respond to difficult and contentious conversations that are often made more challenging because of gender dynamics. Facilitators for this interactive event are Steve Riccio and Dennette Moul. Lunch will be provided. Please contact mould@dickinson.edu if you have any questions. Please register in CLIQ.

Spring Luncheons

The President’s Commission for Women, Gender, and Sexuality will host two women’s luncheons this semester to encourage community building and provide an opportunity for us to share our experiences as women on Dickinson’s campus. Main dishes and drinks will be provided, and we ask that each participant bring either a side dish or a dessert.

Research On Women, Gender and Sexuality by Students (ROWGS) symposium is an annual spring semester event sponsored by the Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies department and the President's Commission for Women, Gender and Sexuality. Students from across the disciplines present their research on women, gender or sexuality. Students showcase their work introducing the faculty and students to the wide range of research on women, gender and sexuality being done across the Dickinson College campus.
