Paradise Lost, Gained

The library has acquired a rare first edition of Milton's Paradise Lost, published in 1668, and the first illustrated edition of 1688. Prof. Carol Ann Johnston, who uses the Archives & Special Collections in teaching about Milton and his works, consulted with the library in the acquisition of the books, along with other works of Milton, and some of his contemporaries.
