Associated Press Collection

This new database provides documents and images from three Associated Press Corporate Archives collections.

The News Features & Internal Communications archive provides internal AP publications as well as news features that go beyond the breaking news to address cultural happenings, examine the back story, and provide interpretation of events.

Topics covered by the US City Bureaus collection include the civil rights movement, Cuba, the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago, the My Lai massacre trial of Lt. William Calley Jr., and  the presidencies of George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and John. F. Kennedy.

The Washington DC Bureau collection includes wire coverage of Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Reagan, and the major events of each presidency. It also provides biographical information on prominent politicians, entertainers, and scientists from 1938-2009.
