Smart Classrooms

Waidner-Spahr Library has several smart classroom facilities, ranging from traditional lecture-seminar rooms to computer labs to innovative group-work computer work labs. The smart protocol for classroom technology is designed to make using computer, video, CD, and DVD playing as easy as possible. Library smart classrooms include:

Reserving Classrooms for Your Class

To reserve the Alden Room contact CASE at 717-245-1900 or via email (case@dickinson.edu).

Library Classroom 1 is available to reserve after 5pm and on weekends by contacting CASE at 717-245-1900 or via email (case@dickinson.edu). Library Classroom 1 may be reserved during daytime hours on weekdays—if not already in use for a class—by emailing circ@dickinson.edu

To reserve the East Asian Reading room, you must first receive prior approval by emailing circ@dickinson.edu. If your request is approved, the library will contact CASE on your behalf.

Please, do not hesitate to address questions about the smart classrooms to User Services via E-mail (helpdesk@dickinson.edu), telephone (ext.1000), or by visiting the User Services office, in the lower level of the Library. If you need immediate help in a Smart classroom, please call the Helpdesk at ext.1000.

Reserving Reading Areas for an Event

The library has two reservable reading areas, the Rabinowitz Reading Area, and the Stafford Reading Area. If you would like to have an event in the library please submit your request using the library's Event/Exhibit Proposal form https://dickinson.libwizard.com/f/Lib_Event-Exhibit_Proposal form.  If your event is approved, the library will contact CASE on your behalf. The library will support your event in the following ways:

  1. Provide an appropriate space.
  2. Contact CASE to reserve the space.
  3. Provide a library event liaison.

All other arrangements (food, promotion) will be provided by the group sponsoring the event.

The library expects the group sponsoring the event to abide by all campus policies and regulations.
