**IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE IRS 2018 1098-T FORM**
In November you received a letter from the Student Accounts Office alerting you that there is a change in the reporting method of the 2018 1098-T. This reporting change from Box 2 reporting of the qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE) to Box 1 reporting of the payments received for the qualified tuition and related fees charged eliminates the confusion and errors regarding Box 2 (amounts billed) reporting method.
Please NOTE that payments made in 2018 for qualified charges (tuition and fees) for the Spring 2019 semester will NOT be captured on the 1098-T form in the tax year 2019. This may impact your tax credit eligibility. You can find detailed information about claiming education tax credits in IRS Publication 970, Page 9 of the IRS website.

Students with access to the Dickinson Gateway can view their monthly invoice for tuition, fees and miscellaneous charges. With this resource, students can print the invoice or send it as a PDF file attachment by email to anyone. Students can check out the e-Billing channel on the Gateway for more information regarding their account and e-bill.
The student accounts office promotes paperless billing and therefore ask students to set up a proxy to view and pay their student account bills online. Students have had the ability to view and pay bills online, as well as review financial aid information and academic records, and now they have the ability to assign proxy access to a parent/guardian of their choosing. That access may allow the proxy to view the student's academic records, monthly invoices and financial aid awards along with the ability to make a real-time payment on the student's account.
