Yom Kippur Pre-Fast Dinner and Kol Nidre

October 8, 2019

Join the Asbell Center for Jewish Life to close out our New Year Season.

Dinner will be the lead up to the 25 hour fast of Yom Kippur that is practiced to allow practicing jewish students to devote a full day to introspection and to ask God for forgiveness for their sins of the last year. Services, beginning at 7pm, is the official beginning of the holiday and it is considered one of the holiest services of the year as the Jewish Book of Life (a metaphorical book maintain by God) is prepared to be closed until next year.

This service varies from the traditional Jewish set of prayers because of this holidays importance and it even gets its own, dedicated music that we only use during this time of year!

Whether Jewish or not, all students are welcome to join us for dinner and at the service. Please RSVP to dinner using the link to our Google form
