Bi Visibility Day

September 23, 2019

The day acknowledges and celebrates bisexual identities.

Bisexuality Visibility Day was first observed on September 23, 1999 by the Lesbian and Gay Association in Johannesburg, South Africa. The day acknowledges and celebrates bisexual identities that would otherwise often be ignored or invalidated within the LGBTQ community. It is not uncommon for the identity to be written off as “fake” by both queer and non-queer identities. On this day we recognize bisexual people and educate ourselves on what bisexuality really means.
