Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Kosher Food but Were Afraid to Ask: Part One

September 12, 2019

In “What is Kosher, and Why Should I Care?” students will learn the basics and take a fun and informative look at the meaning of kashrut through history.

What is kosher food, anyway? How often does the rabbi bless the food? Is a bison burger kosher? Why might I be interested in kosher food, and how can I try it at Dickinson? Rabbi Marley Weiner, director of Dickinson’s Milton B. Asbell Center for Jewish Life, has heard all of these questions and more. Lucky for us, she’s happy to spill the beans. Weiner will answer your burning questions about kosher food, on campus and beyond. All students who are curious about kashrut, the practice of eating kosher, are invited to attend. A vegetarian lunch will be provided.
