Come and de-stress before your exams with breathing and movement techniques by Marie Canal -- French Dance Professor and Choreographer from the University of Toulouse.
The Department of French and Francophone Studies warmly welcomes Dance Professor and Choreographer, Marie Canal, to Dickinson. Marie Canal is from the University of Toulouse, and she has been conducting dance and movement workshops in French during orientation at our Dickinson-in-France program. These workshops help students bond and transition into their host language and culture. Marie Canal, a former artist in residence in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Bucknell University, specializes in contemporary African dance. She has collaborated with Senegalese dancer and choreographer Germaine Acogny. Join us as we benefit from the expertise of this tremendous performer, choreographer and teacher! No prior dance experience is necessary, so don't let that keep you from stopping by the HUB Social Hall East on Thursday, April 25. Light refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Departments of French and Francophone Studies and Theatre & Dance, the French Club, and the Center for Global Study & Engagement.
