Genetic testing to predict athletic abilities and tailor training programs to individuals is on the rise due to the reduced cost of DNA sequencing and the commercial availability of genetic testing kits. In this talk, we will review the genetics and physiology behind elite athletic performance and address the role of genetic testing in athletic recruitment and training.
