Beginner Networking: Building Solid Career Connections

January 30, 2019

It is not what you know, but who knows you.

According to several studies, 70-75% of all new jobs are found through networking. Despite knowing that we should network, the prospect of talking to other people in a room full of total strangers or making new contacts may feel intimidating. You certainly have the skills to build your network and we want to help develop them.

After attending one of CAILCD’s earlier program you asked for help with networking. Attending Networking: Building Solid Career Connections will help you to:
• Build your confidence to network by preparing you for introductions and conversations
• Talk about what to say, and how to say it.
• Understand why you will do your most effective networking when you listen a lot more than you talk.
• Learn what it means to build a successful networking strategy and to identify additional resources.

Appropriate for:
-Students who have never attended a networking program
-Students who are looking for a job and internship
-Students who are not comfortable with the idea of networking
