The Tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem - Unrevealing its Chronological Episodes The study of historical and cultural heritage materials, ecofacts and artefacts, provides valuable information for a better understanding of the past, the technological level of ancient societies and their everyday life and practices. In many cases, fascinating secrets have been uncovered and hidden technologies have been revealed which are greatly valued (scientifically and socioeconomically) nowadays, forming part of the so-called cultural industry and sustainable development. The presentation will aim at the application of absolute dating technologies for measuring the age of significant monuments, focusing at the recent achievement of providing the dating of the initial construction of the Tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem and all the major architectural modifications of the monument during its long-lasting history. Presented by the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology, the Department of Classical Studies, and the Department of Earth Sciences.
