The Black Power movement has historically been understood as, in Peniel Joseph's words, the "evil twin" of the civil rights movement. In this presentation, Professor Burgin will discuss the myth of white ejection as one of the key ways in which historians, journalists, politicians and others demonized Black Power from its earliest days. Free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the Department of History and the History Majors Committee.
