We hope you will be able to attend the Queer Cap tapping ceremony! The 2018 Queer Caps will tap new members from the Class of 2019.
They will also tap an honorary member from the faculty, staff, or administration. The Queer Caps were established in 2008 to encourage visibility of queer activists on campus. At the time, many students felt like there wasn’t enough recognition of the value of queer programming and visibility on campus. The founders described the students selected as Queer Caps as individuals who advocated for queer rights, working to tear down traditions and establishments that perpetuate systems of oppression.
