October 27, 2022

Part of the mandatory multi-part pre-departure intercultural workshop series,

This PDO Workshop is part of the mandatory multi-part pre-departure intercultural workshop series for students who plan to study abroad during the Spring 2023 semester. Students need to attend each of these workshops, but can do so in any order:

  • Health, Safety, and Wellness Abroad
  • Perceptions of Identity in Different Cultural Contexts

This workshop will be offered on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout the fall 2022 semester. Students only have to attend each workshop once.

Due to the limited number of spaces available in each workshop, you must sign-up through Totara, by logging in with your Dickinson credentials and registering for the course. If you have any questions, please email global@dickinson.edu

PREPARATION

In order to prepare for the workshop, all attendees must complete activities before attending the session, which are accessible on Totara. Your participation in the session will not be considered complete until you have both attended the workshop and completed the activities.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

In this session students will examine their own identity and awareness of self, which is key growing their intercultural competence skills when they go abroad. Then students will explore how identity can change across different countries and cultural contexts.
