Helen Hsu of The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation will lecture on Rauschenberg's silk-screen print cycle, Surface Series, now on view at The Trout Gallery.

Hsu, the associate curator at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, has conducted extensive research on the artist's Surface Series, including a comprehensive investigation of the media sources Rauschenberg used when creating the works. Her analysis reveals the complex and powerful ways that Rauschenberg delivers a critique of news media by using its most persuasive visual strategies.
