Matthew Pinsker, professor of history and Pohanka Chair in American Civil War History, will be presented with a 2021 Torch of Global Enlightenment Award from the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg (WACH) for his work on the Dickinson & Slavery Initiative and for actively engaging his students in the work of the House Divided Project. He was nominated by Lindsay Bowman ’04, secretary on the Board of Trustees for WACH. Pinsker and fellow honorees share WACH’s mission of making this a better world for people of all races, creeds, cultures and nationalities. The Torch Awards will be presented on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at 6 p.m. via Zoom and Facebook Live by WACH. Click here for access to the awards presentation.
