QTPOC Salon: The Intersections of LGBTQ Activism, Black Lives Matter, and COVID-19

October 9, 2020

In honor of National Coming Out Day and LGBTQ History Month.

The last year has brought the history of racialized violence and marginalization to the forefront of national discussions, but our current moment is shaped by deep roots connecting LGBTQ and anti-racist activism. Come together for a guided discussion of these topics with Vincent Stephens, Director of the Popel Shaw Center for Race and Ethnicity, and Todd Nordgren, Director of the Office of LGBTQ Services, in honor of National Coming Out Day and LGBTQ History Month. Participants will be asked to read two short articles in advance of the salon and are encouraged to come ready to participate in open and interactive discussion.

We ask you to read the following two articles before joining the conversation on Friday:
