A community volunteer opportunity.
United Way Day of Caring | Friday, October 9, 2020 | 8:30 a.m. to noon
***Due to COVID-19, United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County will be holding a combined Day of Caring & Campaign Kickoff on Wednesday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cumberland Drive-In.***

United Way will NOT have a morning kickoff event for Day of Caring, to be compliant with social distancing guidelines provided by the CDC for COVID-19, nor will a volunteer lunch be provided following the morning project completion. Volunteers will receive a gift card provided by Chick-fil-A for a free meal!
The morning of Day of Caring, volunteers will head straight to their volunteer project sites. Volunteer projects will run from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
Most of the projects are outdoors. Host organizations are indicating that volunteers need to stay 6-feet apart and require participants to wear masks. Organizations will be able to provide masks, hand sanitizer, handwashing station, gloves, etc.
Register within Totara to let us know of your intent to participate. Jessica Poe – community impact director, United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County – will receive a list of volunteers and make the volunteer assignments. You can also sign up directly with United Way today for yourself, a group, or family at https://carlisleunitedway.org/day-of-caring/.
Reminder of Community Service Benefit: All employees must first receive approval from their supervisors before registering for the event. All exempt and nonexempt employees will be allowed to volunteer for up to eight (8) hours of paid time from July 1 to June 30. To indicate your interest in this community volunteer opportunity, please register for this program prior to Monday, October 5.
