Juneteenth Celebration

June 19, 2020

The Town of Carlisle will celebrate Juneteenth on Saturday, June 20, at 1 p.m. with a Facebook Live event on the Hope Station Facebook page. Volunteers needed this evening!

The online celebration of Juneteenth includes a virtual book reading featuring a librarian from Bosler Memorial Library, essay readings from students and a special presentation to Taytum Robinson-Covert ’24. The celebration of Juneteenth, which recognizes the end of slavery in the U.S., also includes a volunteer effort led by Hope Station, a local educational and community-building nonprofit. The effort invites volunteers to meet at Lincoln Cemetery at 6:30 p.m. this evening, Friday, June 19, to help display name tags for those buried there.
