Petrin is a Peace Operations Analyst at the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI).
She formerly served as the Founder and Managing Director of Protect the People. She has over 20
Years of experience in the humanitarian sector, leading teams in complex emergencies and advising
United Nations agencies, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and Non-Governmental
Organizations (NGOs). She graduated from Oxford University with a Master of Studies in Forced Migration,
Oxford University and a B.A. in International Relations, African Studies, and French from Gordon College.
She has worked in the Ebola crisis, Haiti earthquake, southeast Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and in
refugee crises along the Afghan-Pakistan, Somali-Kenya, and Thai-Myanmar border among other locations.
