A Reading by acclaimed fiction writer, Jenny Offill

Jenny Offill, acclaimed fiction writer and recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, will read from her work on November 19 at 8 p.m. in the Stern Center Great Room. Book signing and reception to follow.

Jenny Offill is the author of two novels, Department of Speculation, and Last Things. Department of Speculation, which Jenny describes as a “beguiling rumination on the mysteries of intimacy, trust, faith, knowledge, and the condition of universal shipwreck that unites us all” was chosen as one of The New York Times’s top ten books of 2014 and named a notable or best book of the year by The Village Voice and The Guardian. It was shortlisted for the Pen/Faulkner Award and the Folio Award and named a finalist for the Los Angeles Times First Book Award. Jenny is also the author of several children's books, including Sparky. Her short fiction has appeared in Epoch, Boulevard, and Electric Literature. She is currently a writer-in-residence at Vassar.
